Abstract

|
During the course of IgA nephropathy self limited and reversible form of acute renal failure may occur, which is often accompanied by episode of massive gross hematuria and frequently preceded by an upper respiratory tract infection. We
experienced
a
37-year old female without a history of recurrent synpharyngitic macroscopic hematuria present with severe loin pain, macroscopic hematuria and oliguric aute renal failure. Although the patient's renal biopsy showed mild to moderate glomerular
change,
the extent of glomerular involvement could not explain the severe acute deterioation of renal function. We think that acute s tubuar lesion secondary to severe glomerular bleeding seemed bo play a significant role in the pathogenesis of recurrent
deterioration of renal function. We present this case with review of literatures.
